Description

The Psychiatry Department at Kungälv Hospital consists of inpatient care units, a psychiatric emergency department, psychiatric outpatient clinics, child psychiatric clinics, and specialized clinics for patients with eating disorders and emotional instability. Ward 9 is an inpatient unit focused on psychosis and general psychiatry, where individuals with eating disorders are also cared for. The ward has 12 beds and two beds for user-controlled admissions. Ward 10 is an inpatient unit focused on addiction and general psychiatry, with 12 beds.

We are looking for you who want to work with inpatient care and are also interested in working with the target group described above. We are keen on continuously developing and evaluating psychiatric care and would like you to be interested in participating in ongoing improvement work.

Responsibilities

As a caregiver, you are responsible for psychiatric nursing. The patient's care plan is the guiding document, and the patient should be involved in its creation. The care plan is continuously evaluated throughout the patient's stay. We work with shared decision-making, and the care is person-centered. Patients and relatives should be involved in the care. We also have a responsibility to provide support and information to minor children as well as to support patients in their parental role. The team around the patient includes nurses, caregivers, and doctors.

The Psychiatry Department at Kungälv Hospital is seeking nursing assistants and caregivers for the summer of 2025 within psychiatry, wards 9 and 10, and the psychiatric emergency department. We offer a fun, stimulating, responsible, and exciting job where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills together with new colleagues. During weeks 26–33, Ward 10 will close and merge with Ward 9. The number of beds in Ward 9 will then increase to 20 + 2 user-controlled beds.

Qualifications

You are a trained nursing assistant/caregiver.

If you are a student in the nursing program, you need to have completed semester 3 or semester 4 depending on your program.

If you are a student in the medical program, you need to have completed semester 5 or semester 6 depending on your program.

Protected Professional Title for Nursing Assistants
From July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title of nursing assistant within healthcare and social services.
